the staff seemed genuinely happy to help with anything i needed. the breakfast was great. (especially the fresh fruit!). the food in the bar was also delicious and promptly served. i loved that the room included a small seating area, a good spot for reading.
the room felt a little dated. cracked floor tiles in the ensuite were noticeable. the wooden stick stirrers for tea felt a bit cheap for the price point. (tea spoons are always better!).

The large room had a super king bed. The staff, especially Cathy at reception, helped with luggage. She was very kind. Breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I HAVE ever had, so clean.
The remote for the tv was velcroed to the headboard, this i found annoying.

Mediocre Stay with Disappointing Service
untoasted sandwichtepid water
I booked a sandwich through room service one evening and was informed sandwiches were available until 11 PM. After ordering around 9:15 PM, I received word they stopped food service. The menu clearly stated sandwiches should be available. They said that a night-porter had called in sick so nobody could help me until 10:30 PM. Another issue was the bath. The water temperature barely reached warm. Both were annoying situations, I must say.
